The Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering is designed to develop knowledge and skills across a broad range of construction and civil engineering technologies essential to businesses in a rapidly evolving economy. The programme also aims to give key transferable skills that are valued by employers.
Studies will focus on a core knowledge which is required by all civil engineers such as Construction Technology, Science and Materials and Mathematics for Construction. Additionally, the programme aims to provide essential construction and civil engineering management skills.
You will complete a broad range of units including:
- Science and Materials
- Construction Technology
- Construction Management
- Construction Information
- Mathematics and Further Mathematics
- Structural Design
- Surveying
- Geotechnics and Soil Mechanics
- Hydraulics
- BIM
You could choose to continue your studies by progressing onto our Level 5 Higher National Diploma for a further two years, part-time.
You could also choose to apply for a higher apprenticeship, or go on to the second year of a full degree programme.
