The Level 4 Higher National Certificate in General Engineering is designed to develop knowledge and skills across a broad range of engineering technologies essential to businesses in a rapidly evolving economy. The programme also aims to give key transferable skills that are valued by employers.
Studies will focus on a core knowledge which is required by all engineers such as Engineering Design, Engineering Maths and Engineering Science. Additionally, the programme aims to provide essential engineering management skills.
You will complete a broad range of units including:

- Managing a Professional Management Project
- Mechanical Principles
- Electrical and Electronic Principles
- Engineering Management
- CAD for Engineering
- Further Mathematics
- Lean Manufacturing

You could choose to continue your studies by progressing onto our Level 5 Higher National Diploma for a further two years, part-time.
You could also choose to apply for a higher apprenticeship, or go on to the second year of a full degree programme.
