NCATI to begin consultation on future options

The National College for Advanced Transport and Infrastructure today (13 February 2023) announces the start of a consultation process to consider a number of future options for the College.

A College spokesperson said: “The College recognises that there are challenges with its current operating model, and the NCATI Governing Board, with full support of the University of Birmingham, has resolved to enter into a period of consultation on NCATI’s future.

“The College is consulting on proposals to discontinue the direct delivery of learning and to explore alternative models of delivery based on collaboration with existing providers to ensure a viable future for NCATI. Unfortunately, this means that staff at the College have been notified of the risk of redundancy.

“During the consultation process, we will be asking our staff, learners, employers, and stakeholders for their ideas which will then be considered in any future options for NCATI.

“It goes without saying that our learners are central to any proposals moving forward. This includes ensuring their learning will continue, whether that is with NCATI or with another provider.

“The NCATI Board remains committed to exploring models to deliver NCATI’s mission and vision in the future in a sustainable way.

The consultation will run from Monday 13 February 2023 and will finish on Thursday 30 March 2023.
