Frequently Asked Questions
The Skills Bootcamps are designed to provide you with skills that are in demand by employers across the rail sector. As part of the course, you will study "Working Safely in Rail", one of the mandatory units of the Level 3 Rail Engineering Technician/Level 4 Rail Engineering Advanced Technician apprenticeship. This will give you a solid foundational knowledge of working in rail and a stronger footing in the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by a rail apprenticeship, making you a more attractive candidate to rail employers.
Additionally, the National Skills Academy for Rail will run a "Personal Brand Camp", helping prepare you for an interview and identify relevant opportunities with local rail employers.
At the end of the course, every learner will have a guaranteed job interview. Successful candidates will then also have the opportunity to join an accelerated apprenticeship with a rail employer, either on the Level 3 Rail Engineering Technician or the Level 4 Rail Engineering Advanced Technician apprenticeship.
On completion of the Skills Bootcamp, you will receive a certificate in "Working Safely in Rail", accredited by the National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR).
